The Curriculum

The aim of the school is to develop and extend each pupil to his/her full potential irrespective of academic ability or social background.

Class teachers plan from the school Curriculum Map which in turn reflects the National Curriculum 2014 and Bishop's Directory. Each member of staff has responsibility for a particular area of the curriculum.

In their planning teachers take into account the differing needs of the children offering them an appropriate level of challenge. As the children get older, we encourage them to choose activities which will  stretch them. This helps to stop children being labelled by ability and ensure they value challenge as part of learning.
