Extra-Curricular & Sports
At Our Lady's, we pride ourselves on our extra-curricular offer. We believe that developing children's wider interests is an essential part of their education. The extra breadth in our curriculum ensures that we are developing more than just children's academic abilities and nurturing their God given gifts.
After School Clubs – Lent Term
Clubs will begin on Monday 15th September. In the Lent Term, clubs are open to children in Years 1–6. We find that the day can feel too long for Reception children; however, they are still welcome to attend Afterschool Club if needed.
- Clubs run by OLS staff members are free of charge.
- Please complete the following Microsoft Forms link to sign your child up for the free clubs. - After School Club Microsoft Form
- Clubs highlighted in red are provided by external providers and may include a charge.
- For external clubs, please refer to their leaflets for details on how to sign up.

Promoting Competitive SPorT
At Our Lady's, we encourage children to compete in sport at their level. All children take part in sports festivals throughout their time in school. As they get older they get the opportunity to compete in cross country events and the chiltern league. We use our sports premium money to get the children involved in as many sporting events as possible.
Swimming and Water safety
At Our Lady's, we recognised the importance of being able to swim confidently. Swimming is the one skill that you learn at school which can save your life. We are very lucky to be able to use the swimming pool at The Beacon school, which allows us to deliver our own swimming lessons. A team of two teachers and a qualified swimming instructor deliver targeted lessons with half a class at a time. This means we can target children who need extra support. Children have a term of swimming in Years 3, 4 and 5. We also provide top-up lessons in Year 6 for children who can't swim 25m yet. This has been extremely effective in raising swimming attainment for all children.
The attainment over the last 3 years is as follows:
| Academic Year | Percentage of year 6 Children who can swim 25m | Percentage of Year 6 Children who can swim a range of strokes effectively e.g. front crawl, backstroke and breaststroke | Percentage of Year 6 children who can perform a safe self-rescue |
| 2022-2023 | 97% | 97% | 97% |
| 2023-2024 | 97% | 97% | 97% |
| 2024-2025 | 97% | 93% | 93% |
